Peter Whitlock and Alistair Baur life was embodiment and word for word, every definition’s of affair. From the already confusing world of sex to a dream of opening their own business and everything in between, the wild ride of just one year of owning their own bar was more then they would have ever dreamed. A small town of friends gets even smaller when the secret’s and affair’s start and the humorous and touching ways they learn about life and love will make it so you have to find out what is going to happen next.

Peter and Alistair have been best friends since the sixth grade and after a tragic accident took Alistair’s parents and Peter’s parents took him in making them real brothers. You would have never thought so if you were to meet them, though, because they couldn’t have been more different.

Peter is a loyal and sweet man. He grew up white collar, but not well off or spoiled. He knows how to work for his money and did, holding a job since he was sixteen. He is dating the very wealthy Charlotte Wentworth that came from very old money making her last name stamped on lots of banks and old train stations. Peter and Charlotte have been dating since high school and have plans one day to settle down and get married and have a few kids together.

Well that is what she thinks and what her parents expect, but if you ask him, Peter Whitlock would say he wasn’t coming close to thinking of anything like that right now while the bar is still in its baby steps.

Alistair Baur is a very wealthy playboy whose parents are taken at a young age leaving him alone and financially set for more then the rest of his life. Peter’s parents took Alistair in, giving him a home and love and a brother. Despite his new parents’ attempts to straighten him out, he still used every opportunity he could to drown his loss and fear in women and a cocky attitude.

Alistair didn’t use his millions in inheritance. He instead opted for working, like Peter, since a young age to show that he was more then just a playboy. Even if he insisted, his only form of high education was going to be Bartending School. As to be more proactive and productive in their bar in the future, he says. Ren was his new side lady that does not limit him to whatever new flavors might in fact come along. With his bad boy persona and quick temper to back it up, he was every woman bad boy that they wished to tame.
Jess Mason was the new flavor, brought in by Lilly, the own of the bar property. She was suggested to help in the bar, bringing it a new fresh face and skills that will be an asset to the bar. Her quick wit and cockiness to match Alistair’s made her intriguing mix amongst the boys in the bar.

Bella Swan was friends with Peter and Alistair since high school where she started dating her long time boyfriend Edward. Edward treats Bella like garbage, cheating on her and using her all the while making her feel like it was her fault.

Reneesme Swan is Bella’s little sister who she had to raise when their father went MIA with grief by throwing himself into work after their mother died. She is spoiled and conniving and very used to getting her own way.

Alistair is engaged to Jess and living with her while sleeping with Reneesme. Jess, who says she loved Alistair, was also sleeping with Peter. Peter who has slept with no one else but Charlotte his whole life is also sleeping with Jess. Edward is sleeping with everyone, including Reneesme, who says she was only doing to get revenge on him for hurting her sister. Bella and Alistair have a teetering friendship / relationship that his comforting but filled with sexual tension that you could cut with a knife.

Bella finally dumps Edward for good finding solid evidence that he has been cheating. The tension between Alistair and Peter become thick as affairs come to light and others are assumed. In order to try and set things right Peter is compelled to ask Charlotte to marry him forcing Jess back to Alistair and Alistair to hopefully straighten up for her.

It didn’t work.

Jess and Peter still can’t stay away from each other, even when Jess gets hurt finding out about Alistair and Reneesme’s affair. Not wanting to be the cause of Peter’s divorce and no longer willing to lead Alistair on, Jess takes off leaving only a note.

Having lost Reneesme and Jess in one sweep and his long time friend Bella’s mad at him about Reneesme, he snaps losing control and almost killing four men. The men live but he’s arrested and a trial is held for his four charges of attempted murder he now had against him.

Bella, Peter and everyone at the bar, including the customers, stand by Alistair as he is sentenced to two to six years of prison being found guilty of one of the charges of attempted murder.

While in prison Alistair and Bella become friends again and write to each other, she even visits him a few times while he is in there. It turns into something close to a relationship, until Alistair finds out that Edward was back in the picture, clamping down the walls for Alistair again.

Bella, who really did love Alistair, was confused. Edward was a dick and controlling but he was familiar and predictable. Alistair was unpredictable and exciting and scary and nothing that Bella was used to allowing in her life. They both fell for each other, but neither wanted to say it so anger and mistrust lead them to fighting.

Alistair out of prison early for good behavior, given probation, and house arrest, not having the will to go back to the house that he and Jess shared, he lived on the pull out bed in his office at the bar. He’s greeted as a hero would by his customers and friends, except Bella. Bella greeted him with uncomfortable small talk and hostility which Alistair was more then apt to return full force.

The day that Alistair got out of prison Peter gets a random phone call from Jess saying that she was back in town and she wanted to see him. Peter, who truly loved Jess, went to meet her announcing that even after she left, he got a divorce and they were free to love each other freely.

Jess came with news of her own and eventually went to Alistair to let him know she was pregnant with his child. Alistair refused to believe that it was his and rejected any suggestion that he was involved putting him and Peter on the outs again.

Bella eventually took the fist step and bridged the gap between them. With a little drama of her still being with Edward but quickly getting rid of him, they started a serious relationship between them. And unexpected complication causes Jessica to lose the baby and Alistair to step up and be a man about his baby. He grieves and they name her together and give her a proper burial.

Everything seems to finally be going on the up until Edward decides he wants revenge for Bella being Alistair. After several creepy texts and a disturbing package being sent to her house, Bella finally pieces it all together finding out that it was Alistair who was the real target. Unfortunately this is discovered too late and Alistair is shot outside the bar, leaving him with a hole in his chest and in a coma.

The characters start to wrap up while he is in the hospital. Jess and Peter are engaged to be married. Reneesme steps up and grows up, helping Bella through this hard time with Alistair in a coma. They move everything out of her old apartment and move in with Bella’s friend Lauren Michaels.

Alistair wakes and is told about the events that took place. They tell him it will take a lot of physical therapy and healing time but eventually he will be close to perfect. With the second chance given Bella and Alistair, make a mutual promise to use it to the fullest with each other.
